My site is currently #1 when a search is done for "redskins warpath" or "warpath" which is really great, but when a search is done for "redskins" or "washington redskins" I'm waaaaaay down on the list. How can I increase my page ranking for this search?

You got your terms a bit mixed up, PageRank refers to a rank 0-10 that Google assigns each page in it's index.

SERP or search engine (rank?) position refers to your position in the list when people do a search.

Anyway, I'm sure "redskins" and "washington redskins" are much more competitive terms, so don't expect to rank well (in the top 10 or 20) without a lot of effort.

There are many ways to improve your SERP, you're in the right place (here). The topic is too broad for me to expound at the moment, but good luck.

According to the McDar Keyword Analysis Tool (nice tool) your site is ranked 27th All in Anchor for "washington redskins" (without the quotes) and 39th for "redskins".

Also, your keywords tag has a lot of phrases within.

I would recommend cutting down on the keywords tag and maybe even on the title tag if getting these specific keyword phrases is so important.

Then building link popularity, without link farms, for the specific phrases to improve your standing for All in Anchor should assist a great deal towards your goal.

Also, there are a number of style tags and other meta tags early in the pages of your site. You may want to create an external stylesheet and place an include file within your pages to reduce the amount of text for these while improving the keyword density and cause the keyword phrases to be found closer to the top of the document instead of where they are now. IMHO.
