Hi, newbie to this forum here.
I need some help fixing a problem with my google search results.
My location is Australia and I use google australia however, I have noticed that even when I dont select the "pages from australia" button my results recently are mostly from australia.
I use winxp and have tried changing the language from English Australian to English USA in an attempt to fix my problem but this failed.
    Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Try using google.com if you don't like the Australian tint to your search results. Even then, you will still get different results from say - someone in America as you will still be querying a different - more local - datacentre.

I know what you mean when you type in www.google.com it always directs you to www.google.com.au

You can change it in settings but I did it ages ago so eveyr time it goes directly to google.com

no joy with any suggestions so far but thanks for responding though.
I cant get google.com as my homepage no matter what I do.
Its my belief that google sees your ip addy and ajusts results accordingly, though this seems to be a recent thing.
So Im stuck with google.com.au and the results I get searching the web as opposed to "pages from Australia" still yield 99% ozzie results.

The link - Go to Google.com is on the main Google page.

If you are using the Google toolbar you can also select which Google page to use for the search bar.

and to add on to that, if you want google.com as your homepage, make " http://www.google.com/ncr " your homepage. Then it shouldn't redirect.
