To learn about how to run a VPS, I bought one with a few WP sites installed at Amerinoc, an unmanaged one. I can't get ftp accounts created in my Zpanel admin to work. I can connect but the directory listing fails. I've been told that is due to ftp clients only working with active mode, and only then with certain IPs. It completely fails in passive mode. I thought that this was something Amerinoc was doing, blocking ports and using dynamic packet filtering. They claim it is not, that I must have set some firewall on my VPS. I had a contractor look at it. All that is on there is some IP tables. Does anyone have experience getting ftp to work right with Amerinoc? Alternatively, does anyone know the mistake that i am making for the description of the symptoms? Thanks.
