I've bought an existing PR4 directory site. The site now runs on Link Department Pro. Since HitCode has stopped their support for Link Department Pro, I would like to change the script. Can you please recommend me a Directory script to use? Will the change in the script affect my PR? Thanks a lot for your time. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks :)

I have a large collection of Directory Scripts on this page. But most likely phpLD is what most will recommend. Visit the link I put up and make a selection as to what you want to use.

Try to keep your directory structure and you should be ok.

Phpld 3.1 is the way to go.
No unless you change the url structure.

Thanks a lot for the replies. Do you think it will be worth to spend $75 to remove the link to phpLD? Or should I create a good design for my site for that amount?

    Thanks again :)

It worth I think.I've sent David a pm about removing the links on my web directory.
Regarding the templates, you can use my free phpld template. If you need a quality template, that will cost you something around $200.

Remove one link and add two? :D

    $200 for a template

One last question :) I had created a directory script for another site a few months back. Though I am using SE friendly url, it never got indexed in Google (but got indexed in both Yahoo and MSN  ). Can you please tell me whether it is good to use such custom created scripts or not? Google spiders it but not indexes. Could that be any problem with the script?

The scripts has very little todo or nothing at all todo with how you get indexed. You get index because it finds you from some place. I have created many sites this year alone and i've tested it many times and as always the results are the same.

Place a link to a site that gets visited, such's site could be this forum or a blog, a directory or even one of your own that has been index or crawled, then sure enough the G-bots will come crawling.

I had a doubt whether I had made some mistake with the mod_rewrite or not. They have crawled my site. I have submitted it to many directory, directories with 2-4 page rank. But still.... :(

According to Yahoo site explorer, there is a total of 192 incoming links which includes 32 links from external sites.

The directory is http://www.prokerala.com/directory/ . Is it better to change it to http://www.directory.prokerala.com/ ? Can you please provide any tips on improving the script?

changes in script will not affecting your current main page PR. and use either indextscript or PHPLD 3.1. good starting point.
