OK, maybe I'm just F.G. ("But you ain't got no legs, Lt. Dan."), but can someone tell me the difference between:

    Hits
    Visits
    Clicks
    Pageviews

    This is confusing as hell!

    Thanks!

    Aye

It's the "net sales" part you should be looking at ;)

    Okay... here we go:

Hits = Whenever something loads. Like... when image loads, that's hit. When 2 images load, that's 2 hits. When page loads that's one more hit. In that article they mention "server requests" which is pretty good definition too.

Pageviews = one fully loaded page (including are loaded images/whatnot). One pageview may contain many hits (like... if there's 3 images, then getting one pageview would mean 4 hits (3 images + 1 page request))

Visit = no strict definition... but if somebody is in your site for some minutes (5 or 15 or something depending on the definition), then it can be considered a visit (in other words - the guy can have several pageviews in one visit)

Clicks = The number of times something is - well - clicked :) Like... if you have banner ad, and 3 people click that banner - then it's 3 clicks.
