currently trying to set up cplinks...

can anyone explain this in english please....
    do i rename global_config.php to 777.php ?....
...and the index page to 777.htm? :(

Use your FTP client to CHMOD (change the file permissions) of index.html and global_config.php to 777. These files reside in the cpLinks root directory. This is very important as these files are written to by the cpLinks program.

no, you change the permissions on those files. in your ftp program, right click on the flie, click CHMOD or "change permissions" or whatever your programs calls it and click all the read/write/modify buttons so they are all checked. That's 777.

    and the next part....

Run install.php, which is located in your cpLinks root directory. This creates the cpLinks database tables.
When you have run install.php successfully delete this script as it could be used maliciously in the future.

how do i run something that has been uploaded?
if i double click the file..it just prompts me to download it... if i right click...run is not an option.

    appologies...having a dead mind day :(

Basically you are checking to make sure the permissions are set to read/write on the server folder. This way, this will allow anonymous uploads thru the browser (http).

To run the install.php, go to another browser and type in http://www.example.com/yourfolder/install.php & this will start the process. You will need to do it via http & not ftp
