Hey everyone, I have 2 main sites that I want to get ranked higher in Google, both are in my sig. Feel free to check them out on google under these search results: Free Microsoft Points Free PayPal Money I am on page 1 or 2 for both of them. With Free Microsoft Points I was on page 2, 1st result for a while until I hit #5 on page 1. Then now I seem to be #6. I am wondering what I can do to maintain my position and move up, same applies to my other site. I started out as last result on the 2nd page and now am 2nd result on the 2nd page. I have submitted my sites to about 50 directories and have been getting backlinks mostly through blog commenting or forums. I understand these are nofollow and have little or no weight. Ultimately, my questions come down to this: 1. How can I maintain my position in Google? 2. How can I move up in Google? 3. How should I get backlinks? I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks a lot.
1. All you can do is keep your quality up and keep focused. Google will do whatever they want 2. Create better content that people will link to on their own. skip the tricks and tactics. 3. Focus on related sites that have high authority and ranking then make deals with them. Google rewards quality. It's that simple. They also reward spammers that do tricks, but not for very long.
Oh man, I gotta take this opportinuty to give a plug. This is too varied a subject to talk about here. Do I know how to rank #1 for my dominant keywords? Yes, I do. I am doing it as we speak. But will I mention it in here? Nah... Reason being is that it is literally a 4 page diagram of how to do this. It is not oly about generating backlinks, it is so much more than what anyone will give you in a post in here. Mate, check out The SEO Method by David Jenyns, it will teach you what you need to know, everyting from how the search engines work to why they work that way, to how to develop enough pulling power and backup to keep you at #1. The link is in my sig, and I honestly cant recommend it enough, it is hands down the most valuable information I have ever gained in my career. To respond to the post above me, Google dont do what they want, Google do what Google do. As far as tricks and all that, look... tricks are a webmasters best tool, not black hat tricks or any of that garbage, I am talking about methodology. Things that make 10 hours of work turn into 15 mins, that kind of thing. I use alot of these tricks, look at the other link in my sig, that is only one of them. The key is simple. Drip release your backlinks slowly but consistently, and develop a backup plan for WHEN your competition attacks again.
Internetmarketing, thanks for the tip on having quality content. And red, thanks for the great ideas. Do I have to purchase anything with the SEO method?
You gotta focus on those anchor texts and build you links around those anchor texts...Create unique content and keep adding "new" stuff to your site often. If you have a budget, get listed on some good paid directories that would accept your site with those anchor texts...you have no idea how this could help you overtime.
So basically directories, articles, and good backlinks with anchor text would do it? Any ideas on how many backlinks to get a day, or a week?
1. How can I maintain my position in Google? - You need consistent number of quality dofollow backlinks with anchored keywords like "Free Microsoft Points" and "Free PayPal Money" from unique IP and Domains that is relevant to your website. 2. How can I move up in Google? - Beat up your competitors from total SEO point of view like onsite and offsite. 3. How should I get backlinks? - Dofollow Forum posts - Dofollow blog commenting - Dofollow social bookmarking - Dofollow article directories - Moderate link exchanges - Blog/Website directories submissions - Get some bloggers to review your website - Write some guest post with a link to your site from other relevant blogs All you link building should focus on dofollow links from relevant pages as you are targeting for Google search engine.
