My blog is looking pretty bland and empty. Any ideas what I can do to make it more attractive and fill space? I hate to see all that white space! Thanks, your help is much appreciated. Click here to view my blog, and give me some tips!
you have that entire middle column for only a few lines of text at the top - is that space justified? Your site, although conservative in it's colour choices, isn't poorly laid out and (with the exception of that funky extra column) wouldn't use whitespace poorly either. I wonder if you couldn't just sneak the handful of lines from the middle column into the right-most column, and then extend the left column to be the width of what is now the left and the center columns. Play around with it, see what works for you, post a screenshot here and we can go from there!
It actually doesn't look bad IMO. I agree w/ what the guy above me said. And also, The text is off on your left column.
I took a look and came up with the exact conclusion as innovati. On most of your pages your content takes up 2/3 of your site width and your ads take up 1/3 on the right. On your main page though, it's 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 and the middle 3rd is pretty much empty. I would definitely have your featured story fill up the left 2/3 of the page. Most people are on your site, one would hope, to see your content not look at ads, so I'd make that content more prominent.
I'd like to extend the left side to take up 2/3 on the homepage like you guys said, but I'm a novice at design. I have no idea what to do lol.
It looks like you're using an old revolution theme? In which case you can add an extra column in the controls, if you've modified the templates and removed this option reupload it. If it's not a revolution theme at all (though i'm almost certain it is) you'll need to get a coder to correct it for you, it's quite messed up and you'll need to edit the WP-loop to display posts from all categories.
I agree with the others, I'd change it into a 2 column layout with 2/3 of the space on the left and 1/3 to the right.
