I am having trouble coming up with an idea for a domain I currently have that will be catchy and bring lots of traffic. It's a unique domain only 4 letters but it is a .org domain ex Thug.org

Think about something you wish you could do online but can't at the moment and start from there. Having a passion for the topic will help too.

I answered a post earlier about online calorie counters - and there are lots of them - but the way they work is flawed and difficult to use. The person who can rework that will be onto a winner.

The domain is thug.org but all the ideas I come up with don't seem to be good enough to be catchy.

Also I am just trying to think of ideas for my domain don't have the site started up or any type of products for it yet.

Don't let the domain constrain you - you can always make it fit your site later by treating it as an acronym or putting a masculine spin on the concept. You wouldn't expect thug fitness to work, but it does, right?!

I'm failing to understand your question. I type in thug.org and nothing comes up except an invalid page. What kind of site will it be?

Tell us about your skills and passions?
How much funding do you have? Can you afford to develop and market a game changing site or are you just looking to earn through affiliate sales?

With a .org, I don't see it as a website posting viral videos and get traffic for banner ads or even adsense.
It suits as a site selling affiliate products.
I agree with @sarahk on possibly using it as an acronym, or you could sell stuff that are more rugged or tough (e.g. like skateboarding, MMA).

But one thing to note: the name "thug" can give off a very bad vibe to the content or products on your website. Be very sure to do the marketing message right.

I look at that domain, and I get nothing. I look at some of my blank, unused domains, and I get excited at the possibilities. Each domain I got, is because I could see its possibilities and its values.
If you look at your domain, and you get nothing, dump it. Forcing an awesome idea onto an ill-matched domain isnt the solution. Come up with the site that you want, that you are happy with, then find the domain that fits your niche perfectly.

My first reaction is that the domain is an oxymoron. Thug = doing bad; .org = doing good. So, the branding will have to recognize this fact and probably be a bit tongue in cheek if you try to sell products, etc.

Or, you could become a directory/blog or other such content provider and list the Top 100 or 500 thugs of the world. Perhaps the Top 10 Wanted Criminals for every major country in the world could be listed with pictures, descriptions of their crimes, etc. As the next atrocious crime was committed, you could add the criminal to the portfolio. This would be perfectly in line with your domain because you would be doing good by exposing/highlighting bad guys to the rest of the world. This type of site may already exist, but that would be part of your preliminary research to focus on, of course.

I would steer away from .org as people (rightly) perceive websites associated with that TLD to be charity or non profit websites. If you can't find a good .com look for something that is very brandable, don't worry so much about keywords anymore in the domain. Maybe try finding a short domain using the shorter TLD's such as .io, .me etc
