    Hi,
I am getting a duplicate title tag warning on Webmasters tools for my site home page( ****.ie) and its index page (****.ie/index.php).I would like to amend the htaccess.txt file to redirect the index.php to the home page in an effort to remove this duplicate title tag warning. The following is my attempt at an amended htaccess.txt but it does not seem to be working, would anybody be able to offer some help with this please.I feel it is affecting the serps for my homepage.I am on a shared linux package and the enclosed htaccess.txt is in the root folder of website concerned. Thanks in advance.

    htaccess.txt attempt.

Have you renamed the file .htaccess (ie not htaccess.txt)?
