Hey guys (and gals), I'm feeling kind of stuck at this point, and I need some advice. I have a new website (a week old) and i'm ready for something to give, but it seems stuck. It hasn't made any money and even though I've had 66 visitors with 22 clicks to affiliate sites, i've had no sales (and no $). I feel like I need more traffic, but I'm not sure how to do so. Everyone always answers with the things i've heard a hundred times: create content, create backlinks, write articles, ppc, etc. Well, i've done those things and still I see no huge increase in traffic nor sales. I just get bummed because I see people asking how to monetize their site because they're getting 100k unique visitors/day and i'm thinking "send them my way please". I just need some advice on where to go from here. What do I try? I'm writing content. I'm creating backlinks via twitter. I'm creating backlinks via digg (which it seems that no one else diggs, ever) I'm creating backlinks via technorati I'm have backlinks on this site (although not for gaining traffic but for threads like this) I've tried PPC, but I spend $15, got 16k impressions, 32 clicks, and 0 sales. (All keywords in my niche are EXPENSIVE). -------Above this line pertains to main site (TheTopWebHosting)-------- Advice ANYONE? My main site as of now is: http://www.TheTopWebHosting.com I need people to write reviews so people will want to come read them and write their own, but people won't come read/write if no one else has. Bad cycle (like starting a forum). But hey if some of you want to go write a review about a host you have or have used, it would be great! Other site (#2) is: http://www.MyHeartProfile.com I am in nursing school (graduate in may yay!) so I have a real interest in health. I narrowed the niche to cardiac health, but this site has little traffic, but what the little it does seems to click on affiliate links. However 0 sales as well (although I did get $0.46 from adsense). Other site (#3) is: http://www.MyAppleFix.com I also am a huge mac enthusiast/fan. I started this site almost a year ago (this is build #4) and now it is a forum and has been for about 3 months. I only had a few people actually join and post, but the rest has been floods of people signing up just to post porn or rx drugs. Thank goodness I have to filter each post so none of it makes it live. Once again same deal. 0 sales and $0 from adsense.
Don't be impatient, a week might as well be a minute. It may take months of work before you start getting any real traffic and start seeing some money. If it were that easy, everyone would be millionaires. Only the patient and persistant win in this game. Cheers, Rowan
I think in running online business it takes more time and consistent hard work to succeed. A week is not enough do not give up and still struggle with you already know. Btw have you tried SEO, yet? I heard seller come more from search engine.
Yeah, all three are SEO'd as best I can at this point. And the hosting site is the only one that's a week old. The health one is about 3 1/2 weeks old (and doing better - starting to get organic clicks from google). The Apple one is about 7 months old. I just see all of these people saying "I got 14k uniques my first month". How?!?
