Does anybody have any good resources to getting a forum off the ground.

It will be running as a sub domain at www.poultrypages.com, which is good, as www.poultrypages.com itself gets over 10,000 uniques a month.

I want to get it active before i post a link on my site so i can retain visitors.

Any plans or links to info people have would help alot!

what will your forum's niche be? if its about poultry, i really do not think it will get anywhere, unless it might be cooking.

    Thanks for the support.

It is about Poultry, i've chosen a specific Niche, unlike most the forums we see that are just General Chat.

I don't need it to be huge like DP, but i'd like to aim for 1000 members within 12 months.

Hmm, well, I can help. Poultry....you mean like birds and eggs related stuff?

Well, 1000 members in 12 months is quite an aim, but not unachievable. For a good price, I can get you a lot of excellent SEO services and great posting services as well, so you would have more posts (to make the forum look alive) and the SEO work would help with getting more registrations.

I think we can use myspace, facebook, and youtube very well for this niche.

    Its too much.
My money making forum only get 900+ active member at 1 years.
So member is nothing the most important thing is active member coz their make your forum lite up.
And for beginning, you can use forum poster service to make your forum look good.
Then you can start organize some event to keep your member coming to visit your forum

How much are you ready to invest in buying forum posts? I mean at 10 cents per post, its really cheap, you could get some members (from Dp itself) and then filter those who really want to help you with your forum(the active members i mean) by staying there for more time and posting quality content. It will solve the problem of getting members as well as "ACTIVE" members.

I provide quality posts, with a money back guarantee. For proof of my posting abilities, I can provide you proof of my posting job that I have done and am still doing for many forums. I dont charge much, and I will do it with others, and I have many great ideas about how you can execute contests to get more people to register and more people to post often.
