    Hi everyone,
I am a newbie and have been totally lost on the usage of sub ids for tracking for a specific project. I apologize if this is a stupid question with an obvious answer but I cant find the answer anywhere.

I have few thousand users/email and we use bravenet manage our double optin process and database to send them other random surveys and affiliate emails. However, I just got approved by two survey affiliate programs that allow me to e-mail out a "daily survey" to my membership. We don't have a user id or assign them a membership number.

    So my questions are:

    1) Can I use their email address as a sub Id?

    2) there a way to embed each of their email to the affiliate url via the sub ID without me having to enter 1000 email addresses seperately?

thanks for all the help for anyone who responds.

    Hi hcbeggar,

Subid tracking depends on the capabilities of the affiliate software that your survey programs use. If they accept subids then you should definitely be able to use the email address as the SubID.

I'm not sure how bravenet emails out as I've never used it but for most emailing software there should be a variable available to show email. For example, http://affiliatelink.com/affil35/subid=%email%

Let me know if you're interested in more programs that allow SubID tracking. We have over a thousand campaigns that do.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Thanks AIBrian

So I should enter %email% where they ask for sub id? Or do I have to enter =%email%?

Also, is there a way to have a user enter in data into a form and have that auto populate into the sub id?

For example: User comes to a page and enters their email address...then clicks submit and that redirects to another page with my affiliate banner/ad/link that has that email address autopopulated into the subid.

I am sure that is possible but does anyone know how to do that. I would be very greatful for an answer on that cause I have been searching everywhere and havent found the answer on that one.

    thanks again
    ~eric

You can find someone in another part of the site (web design) who'll probably make you a form like that for $10 or less. :)
