    Hey!

I'm behind a strict firewall and in need of urgent help.

I have to access cpanel but I am behind a firewall.

I know there is a fix where you make a new subdomain and then install some scripts on the server but it is impossible for me to do without accessing cpanel itself.

At the moment I can access the files with CoreFTP.

Any ideas how I can access cpanel from behind this bloody firewall!

    Cheers

If your system is behind firewall, make sure that the port 2082 in not blocked.

    cheers for the replies.

im in no control of the firewall so can't do that.

hotspotshield's ports were blocked so that didn't work.

Anyway, then tried ultrasurf and that worked so all sorted I think!

    Cheers

cPanel introduced a proxy system a few releases ago.

You might try accessing your control panel using http://cpanel.yourdomain.com or you may have to set up the cpanel subdomain in your control panel first (difficult to do if you don't have access to your control panel right now).

You may need to contact your host to see if this function has been enabled or not.

Please Note: Accessing your control panel via http://cpanel.yourdomain.com is insecure, note that it is http:// not https:// so it means your login username and password are being sent over the wire in plain text. This may not be desirable.

Try SSH to the box if you have SSH access, and use putty to tunnel your traffic to it and then point your browser to the tunnel and go to your CPANEL, it would work if you have SSH and SSH is not blocked.
