Help transfering files for my forum/ online store site! FTP HELP

Ok my friend gave me the ftp access his username, password...

his site is down because it is switching servers, but he has a online store which so do I but he wants to transfer the files from his store from his ftp to my store.. we are merging to my store so instead of hand doing it, we want to just transfer the files from his site to mine...


But where do I got to log in and get the files??? and upload them??

Well, considering it's backed by a mysql database, ftp is not going to be enough, you need to export/import the database

 

If the server is down you wont be able to access the files and will have to wait for it to come back up,
I presume both of your sites are useing the same shopping car script? if not you will have to find a converter and then merge the two MYSQL databases into one.

Simply just google your questions and you should find your answers, if not then come back here and ask a specific question and you will more then likely get an answer.
