Help Tracking site with New Google Analytics

    Hi Forum

I've been advised to track 2 areas of my site separately using Google Analytics, namely the main site, and its associated forum. I've already created the tracking code for the main site, but I just can't get my head around how to track the forum separately using a new profile on the existing account. The new Google Analytics interface also has more bells and whistles to look at which doesn't help make things any easier.

I've seen videos and instructional pages on tracking sub domains and the like, but can’t quite see how I'm going to track everything separately in www.mysite.com/forum

I also see lots of things about filters and the like, but all this has done has confused me further. I think I've gotten myself tied up in knots somewhere along the way and ended up making a mountain out of a molehill.

Am I to somehow have a separate tracking code associated to the main account for the forum? And if so, any help on how to do this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Andii

I don't think you can use separate tracking code for forums page. If you have placed tracking code for www.mysite.com it applies to all other pages.
