I have tried everything, google adwords, forum, local newspaper to promote my site. I was able to buy keywords cheap, and run adsense on my site, yet still no sales. Just a couple of clicks here and there on my adsense. I have 12000 hits on my site and its only 4 weeks old. Can anyone give me any suggestions, because I am running out of advertising money and google ads don't make me anything. My site is www.rcairplaneawards.com. I have also joined Commision Junc. and to be honest, I think its impossible to make any kind of money on the net. Any Ideas Please help me. Cheers, Christine
Well, if you start with the thinking "what can I do to improve my site" instead of concluding "I think its impossible to make any kind of money on the net."...
your right, I am just at the end of the rope here. I have free weekly give-a-ways to keep returning clients, a unique site but nobody is biting.
Hi Christine, I had a look at your website and I'd recommend that you'd do a proper Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) on your site. At the moment you have <title>rc airplane awards</title>, <meta name="description" content="Home Page"/> and <meta name="keywords" content="rc airplane awards competition"/>. These are very insufficient for Google to present your site in SERPs. For instance your site description reads "Home Page". Not very descriptive for search engines or their clients (your clients), eh? Use the Google Keyword Tool to find all the proper keywords for your site. https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal Then prepare your TITLE, KEYWORDS and DESCRIPTION so that they contain your best keywords. Don't overload them though; 5-6 good ones should be enough. This will help you get better organic search results as well as better AdWords performance.
wow!! i don't know how you even found that out from my site...lol Thank you so much, I owe you a beer if it works...lol
Your website sucks. I actually thought of a nice thing to say about your website but really that won't help you. Before you try and make money off your website you need to try and get your traffic up. I would ask yourself a few questions: 1) Why would anyone come to my website? 2) How can I get people to come back to my website 3) How can I make my website better? 4) What are my goals with my website?
smindsrt is rude but he's dead-on. The site is terrible. It violates everything I know about internet marketing as well as web design. Honestly I would scrap it and start over. I'd be surprised if that site made a sale even with ten times the traffic.
Christine, do you want to hire someone to help you with the design and copywriting? Hint hint. You may not have to, though. See if you can do it on your own, or maybe get ideas from others here and on other boards. If it still isn't working out for you.... Stop advertising so you don't waste any more money.
Lots to learn. I can't really afford a $500.00 bill right now, besides i wouldn't even know who to hire. I hear about people getting taken to the cleaners. I should also mention that I put this site together using godaddy plates. That migh be the start of the problem. I really thank all of you guys/gals for your imput. Now i am going to have a glass of wine, and think what I should do next...lol
Kris is dead on with this... Get your on-page SEO corrected and fixed before you go back to any type of marketing. This may not be as important to some as it is to others, but it's very important in Google's eyes and in the eyes of other SEs. Right now this is how Google reads your description "This is the 1st annual RC airplane awards. There are 9 categories to enter: BEST ... Any sponsorship welcomed, Contact Chris atmail.com ..." Not so good! When you think you have your on-page SEO figured out, comeback here and ask questions about it again. We would be more than happy to help you out. Well, atleast I would. When that's ready to go, we can work on your off-page SEO to get traffic to your site, "ORGANIC TRAFFIC" that is... See ya!
thanx guru, is that the meta tags, I just changed that and the keywords, i don't know if I did it right, but you guys seem to know how to check. I don't want to sound like a stupid blonde, but i am willing to learn forsure.
Your Clickbank affiliate link isn't even correct: http://www.modelairplanesecrets.com/?hop=887rc You wont get credit for any sales through that link anyway (try ordering - at the order form page at the bottom is says: [affiliate = none])
flydali, sorry it doesn't have your affiliate link... You need to clik the order button 2 times and get to the clickbank page like you were really going to order. Once there, scroll down where it says "[affiliate = none]" - it shouldn't say "none".
At first when I read that you have 10k visits a month, I was impressed and a little baffled about why people aren't clicking your links. But after reading all the advice here, I got to say that they're right, especially on SEO. I gotta wonder where your visits are coming from -- search engine visitors tend to click on ads more than subscribers and so forth, from my experience. So work on your SEO, and I'm sure things will improve. Just don't expect them to improve overnight, though. It'll depend on your niche, which I think is a pretty competitive niche to rank high on SERPs.
when i click order twice, it brings me to clickbank pay screen and at the bottom id does have my affil its sa [affiliate=887rsc]
