I have 14 mp3 players on a page and it works great in IE6 but in Firefox it starts to download all 14 mp3 files, nearly 14 hours of sound, causing the whole page to grind to a halt. I have tried setting parameters in the player but no good. Is there css style to fix this? Check the page at http://www.british-hypnosis-research.com/hypnosisarticles.html Any help gratefully recieved.
it ain't a good idea to pre-load 14 hours of music in your browser. Firefox eats a lot of memory and maybe when you try to reload these mp3 files it lags due to memory outages. quick time is also a bad choice. Why don't you put a flash mp3 player that loads the mp3 if someone want hear it. This will save you bandwidth an save lots of time to your visitors.
14 mp3 players? Really needed? As the person above said, thats a lot. I'd look into a flash mp3 player.
Thanks for your advise i will investigate flash player....as regards 14 players on the page...well i like the design as ypu can see the synopsis of the mp3 sound-book as you listen. Nevertheless i am determined to cater for the FF community so will find solution....any tips on using the flash mp3 player...and where do i find one?? Thanks again....my first time on a forum and i am much encouraged by it.
here is one http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/ ask uncle Google for more, there are many. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...t=result&cd=1&q=free+flash+mp3+player&spell=1
This is the best GPL flash player http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/ Note, that you may need to recode your mp3 files. Flash is picky about bitrates in general.
