Hey guys, One of my newer sites had made it to the first page of G in less than a couple weeks, now its been dropping around 5 spots each day. What do you suggest i do to get it back up in rankings? Get more backlinks? Im afraid of getting too many links to fast and getting sandboxed.. Thanks ahead
If its a newer site, do not expect a stable ranking until your site is about 1 year old. Google will joogle new sites around for months. At the very least expect a 6 month wait before your site settles down to a good stable ranking in the Search engine results pages. Also, where you rank also depends on your backlinks. Make sure you are using the right keywords in the links that point back to your site.
Did you stop link building all together? You should continue your efforts there. It takes more links than what you could get manually for Google to penalize you. I would only be concerned if you are using some form of automated system or trying to cheat. Also, I wouldn't worry to much about it. Unless you are changing a lot of things, your website will fluctuate.
Thanks for your help guys. Problem is that I need this site to rank sooner rather then later. I have been adding links in the last few days but alot of them have been directories which will not get posted for a couple weeks. So i guess ill go out and try to bookmark some more dofollow's. Hope that'll get her back in gear.
