    hi Friends I need help.

One of my website has over 400+ backlinks from other sites and have good position on some populer keywords but problem is when is stop doing submission for site via directory and article diretory. The traffic starts to come down.
From last month I have done nothing on that site and i found that traffic is less by 50%.

But can see it is still coming on page one for most of key words.
Do i have to keep working for whole life to maintain the organic traffic.

    Please Advice on that.

Organic traffic is based on "interest". As long as visitors think you have interesting content, then they will be back. Stop giving them interesting contend, then they stop coming back.

    It's that simple.

Is your traffic really low? I mean enough that you visiting the site several times a day could influence the numbers?

It sounds to me like you are not getting return visits. You need to look at your content and determine a way to get return visits along with ne wvisits. Create a buzz. It always works.

Exactly. And you can do this by manually writing content for your site that changes frequently or, if you can't do that, at least establish some RSS feeds. Establish a forum so that visitors can learn and contribute to the learning of others. And, of course, spend a considerable amount of time studying the comments to the DP threads. They are really invalueable.

If your links are of low quality they could be getting discounted by the search engines. Try building fewer higher quality links and you might even notice in the long-run that the ranking can go up naturally.

If the keywords you are targeting is extremely competitive then you will have to
consistently work hard to maintain your ranking in the serps.
