    Hey all,

I need some advice on why my site isn't rendering properly in IE.

If you go to my site on internet explorer, it looks like there is an issue with the right sidebar being moved to the bottom of the page. This happens for:

    http://tinyurl.com/yv4ye3 and
    http://tinyurl.com/ckxv4z

However, the other category pages don't seem to have the same problem:

    http://tinyurl.com/cf3l3v

If someone can figure out the issue behind this problem, and also do a browser check for me across all common browsers, I will paypal you $10 immediately (I will ask you via PM for your paypal address).

    Thanks! Help!

Dump IE6 and lower. Actually I'm surprised you haven't had issues with other sites using lower versions of IE. Or maybe you didn't notice because you didn't know. Web 2.0 is pretty much the norm and most coding and programming these days don't even consider IE6 and below relevant or worth making it work.

That is a business decision that one must make. I personally understand that a large percentage of people are not computer savvy enough to upgrade their browser and still use IE6 and lower. If you want to ostracize a good portion of your potential market that is entirely up to you. There are many thing to take into consideration such as your niche and the demographics of your customers. I am not totally going to ignore the IE6 market just yet. Besides it is not that hard to code taking into consideration IE6. Really the only people that have problems with it are do-it-yourself web developers that don't know what they are doing.

LOL!! Are you kidding me?? IE6 users are low and shrinking everyday. IE6 is not compatible with the current web trend, those using it will be left behind. It happens. Yes a simple css will resolve it but it won't be necessary for long. The market is so small right now it's not worth spending much time on it.

BTW "do-it-yourself web developers" know more than WYSIWYGers. It's WYSIWYGers that do not even know about IE6 and under issues.

It depends on how you look at it. 20% of my visitors still use IE6 so that means I'll leave about 20% of my potential income behind so while it may not be necessary for too much longer, it's till necessary unless 20% of the market is too small for you. And like you say, a simple css will resolve it so it makes no sense leaving them behind.

Looking at your links that makes sense. As a developer I tend to think ahead and every client I have I make them upgrade (hopefully to FF). I suppose if I was selling a product like you are I'd have to worry. But I do still use the css in everything.

A buddy of mine has a site with over a million hits this year alone. Here are his browser stats.

    Msie: 7.0 46.7 %
    Msie: 6.0 15.6%
    Firefox tot - 26.9%

Before long IE6 will and should be gone.

I pray and hope it does , someone make a virus that forces IE 6.0 users to upgrade or install FF.
