Hey take a look at http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?cat=5 .. the rest of the site works fine, but I don't know why - but for some reason whenever you enter a category - the sidebar moves below the posts.. Can anyone help me? Jason
Move this content out of Content DIV <div id="sidebar"> <div id="left"> <ul> <li> <h3 class="sidebartitle">Subscribe</h3> <ul class="list-rec"> <li> <a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?feed=rss2" title="Feed RSS">Feed RSS</a> </li> <li> <a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?feed=comments-rss2" title="Comments RSS">Comments RSS</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <h3 class="sidebartitle">Categories</h3> <ul class="list-cat"> <li class="current-cat"><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?cat=1" title="View all posts filed under Cuisine">Cuisine</a> (3) </li> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?cat=5" title="View all posts filed under Currency">Currency</a> (1) </li> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?cat=4" title="View all posts filed under Hotels">Hotels</a> (1) </li> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?cat=3" title="View all posts filed under Shopping Destinations">Shopping Destinations</a> (1) </li> </ul> </li> <li> <h3 class="sidebartitle">Advertisement</h3> <script type="text/javascript"><!-- google_ad_client = "pub-1206630351881220"; google_ad_width = 160; google_ad_height = 600; google_ad_format = "160x600_as"; google_ad_type = "text"; //2007-06-10: iweb google_ad_channel = "8915084436"; google_color_border = "ffffff"; google_color_bg = "ffffff"; google_color_link = "4c4c4c"; google_color_text = "4c4c4c"; google_color_url = "4c4c4c"; //--> </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="Cuisine_files/show_ads.js"> </script><iframe name="google_ads_frame" src="Cuisine_files/ads.htm" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" vspace="0" hspace="0" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="600" scrolling="no" width="160"></iframe> </li> </ul> </div> <div id="right"> <ul> <li> <h3 class="sidebartitle">Recent Post</h3> <ul class="list-rec"> <li> <a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=17" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to asdf">asdf</a><br> </li> <li> <a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=15" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to test shopping">test shopping</a><br> </li> <li> <a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=14" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to test hotels">test hotels</a><br> </li> <li> <a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=13" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to test currency">test currency</a><br> </li> <li> <a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=12" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to fdaf">fdaf</a><br> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <h3 class="sidebartitle">Popular This Month</h3> <ul> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=17">...</a> - 12 Views</li> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=15">...</a> - 10 Views</li> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=14">...</a> - 8 Views</li> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=13">...</a> - 4 Views</li> <li><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=12">...</a> - 3 Views</li> </ul> </li> <li> <h3 class="sidebartitle">Recent Comments</h3> <ul> <li><strong><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=14#comment-3" title="on test hotels">Jason</a></strong>: gfdsg...</li> <li><strong><a href="http://bandeq.com/taiwan/?p=15#comment-2" title="on test shopping">admin0</a></strong>: fdsafsa...</li> </ul></li> </ul> </div> </div>
Er.. but how would I do that since the sidebar is controlled by sidebar.php, and it automatically generates the page by pulling information from sidebar.php. It's not like there's an index.html where I would edit everything.. Please tell me if I don't know what I'm talking about here, because I'm quite sure I don't Jason
Uh, okay wait where do I put that? in which of the files - style.css, index.php.... and also I just realized I don't have category.php, would that be the problem? PS I don't see anything out of the ordinary.. I don't know why its even acting up like that. HELP PLEASE!! Jason
go into your theme folder and have a look for these files in the order category-6.php category.php archive.php index.php it is inside the first one of them which you have i think, so open that file and try moving the line: <?php get_sidebar(); ?> to before the <div id="content"> so at the top of the page underneath <?php get_header(); ?> maybe will work not sure..
Yeah, the wierd thing is - the theme i downloaded did not provide category, or archive files... What now..? Jason
its in the main index file... or your theme's index.php.. the arrangement must be <?php get_header(); ?> <div id content>contents and some wordpress codes here </div> <?php get_sidebar(); ?> <?php get_footer(); ?> if that wont work.. there has to be some bug in that template's css...
Jasoncdu if U still have problem send me the files I will do that for u. Its not a big issue I guess.
