    Hi MudiW,

The base WHM URL is: http://ip.here:2086 or https://ip.here:2087 (recommended)

If after you login using that URL and see a lot of buttons, you are fine, your WHM is already configured (possibly by your host). Your job next is just to tweak the configuration the way you want.

On the top left, under Server Configuration => tweak your settings under the following links:

    Basic cPanel/WHM Setup
    Tweak Settings
Update Config (set to automatic update or manual update; I personally recommend manual update since automatic update may cause software failure at times)

Under Service Configuration => click on Service Manager => those that enabled, check them on "Monitor" and save. This will cause the server to attempt to restart a failed service i.e. some services shall die at times, the server will try to restart automatically

    Security:

Under Security Center => disable Compilers Tweak => enable Shell Fork Bomb Protection => and some others you feel appropriate

under System Health => Background Process Killer => check all those listed and save

Install a firewall of your liking. If your OS is Linux, I recommend CSF.

    Apache config:

Software => Apache Update => then tweak the appropriate settings. Make sure to turn on mod_security, that will help protecting the sites running on the server a great deal.

    Hope this helps.

As a free hosting, I think you will get a lot of members doing spam, scam and phishing. So you need to protect your server as much as you can from spam, high cpu usage and cooperate with your server provider or bandwidth provider to remove scam and phishing sites.

You may want to look into getting a server management plan for your server.
Have server security & optimization setup for your server.
