Under "Settings" you can click on the plugin and set the homepage title, description and keywords. It'll probably take a few days to update on Google, but if you view the source code you should be able to see the meta tags for the page.

That's not what I'm looking for. I want google to recognize each post's meta description - and not from the homepage. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!

You need to enter the info into each individual post or page. The latest version of Wordpress doesn't display the plugin fields by default. If they aren't showing at the bottom of the post/page click on "screen options" in the top right corner and you'll need to activate it.

The all in one plugin is activated on each post and I have indeed posted my meta description and keywords for each post. I wonder why its not working.

That would mean you would have to build links to your inner pages as well. Normally if you have a sitemap then once the crawler comes and crawls the home page it finds the sitemap and if important links are pointing to inner pages as well it will then crawl them as well. But if you have a good internal linking structure then the crawler can easily crawl the site without any problem and store the data. This data will then be shown in the SERPs.
