Hi guys, I plan to buy domain names and add it to my server with "addon domains" tool in cPanel. Will my new added domains be ignored from search engines because it runs by one IP? or it has nothing to do with my exisiting website?? Thanks a bunch for any suggestions and ideas!
No. SE's don't care about how many domains are hosting on a single IP. Name based virtual hosting is something that is quite common, and the norm. IP Based is generally frowned upon because its wasteful and there's really no need to do it anymore since apache and every other http daemon out there supports named based virtual hosting.
There is nothing affecting between search engines and multiple sites from Same IP. BUt get Some Server manager to manage your server then, who can Make your request done asap. managing a server with multiple domains is kinda buggy I could help. Thanks.
@Mia, Thank you for the answer, that's exactly what i wanted to know! @extremephp, thanks to you too! i was just afraid lol, now i know it's all fine, i will try myself with the live support, they are awesome you guys rock!
That might be not recommended for you only from the point of view not keeping all eggs at the same basket.
All domains hosted on that server will use the same IPs (not just your domains). I'm not a SEO expert and i don't know if will make a difference if you have different IPs. If it makes a difference, you can purchase from you hosting provider dedicated IP addresses for each one of your domains and you will have all your domain in one place with different IPs.
It makes NO difference. The whole IP/SEO thing was a marketing ploy fabricated by some in our industry to make money by selling valued added services like additional IP's without proper justification. Its a waste of resources and money.
Oh, this is very helpful. I have been getting such conflicting answers to this question. I am still having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea that you can put many domains on one hosting account. I guess it is just too technical for me to "get" yet. But these things have been very helpful to me. I guess you need to make sure your hosting will allow enough bandwidth, right? In the part about having eggs all in one basket, so if you get one of your domains banned for some reason will you lose all your other hosting for your other domains?
The domains will not be ignored. In fact, google has patent regarding using whois data. So they know which domains you own. I don't see any reason why they should have problem with people who run these domains under one web hosting account.
Its perfectly fine mate. Having single IP for every domain is expensive and doesn't give much benefits
as youll have all your domain on the same host i sugest you to make a cpanel backup often depending of the size of the backup you can do it once a week or something like that . you can also check for remote backup service ive see some offer at 5$/month on webhostingtalk its not that expensive to always have a fresh backup of all your content
