help required re hackers

In the last 3 weeks my twitter account has been hacked twice Each time I change the password and use a complicated password made up of random words upper and lower case letters plus random numbers and it says strong password.Last 2 times I've tweeted about 5 mins later I get tweets saying that Ive sent DM's to all my followers which have a link attached and tell them they are in a video.Have followed the advice on twitter, re apps. change password, only use twitter on my pc and read it on my mobile, no-one else has access to my pcI've deactivated the account for now but why is my account getting hacked. ?

 

It's possible you're logging into a phishing site instead of the real Twitter website. Are you verifying that you're logging in to twitter.com and not any other website? If that isn't it, it's possible you have a keylogger on your computer that is tracking your password every time you change it. Have you tried running an anti-virus scan?

 

Are you using the official Twitter client or something else? Check your Settings if there are not any malicious apps.

 

Check the apps you have connected to your twitter and change your email password and secret questions.

 

I'm using the official twitter site, I dont have apps connected to twitter and I run avg virus checker daily and no bugs, plus changed my password both times I was hacked.

 

Ok but if your not changing your password reset info then the person who got in the first time will change it to whatever they want and thus they keep resetting your password..

 

Ive changed my password but where do I find the password reset info on twitter then please?

 

I guess it's different for twitter. Passwords are reset through your email, make sure you change your reset questions for your email and that it's secure. Try using avast antivirus, it was an active web scanner too.

Thanks for that ninjamtlt1, it was all too much hassle so I deactivated my twitter account for a while, meanwhile have had my pc checked, ran my virus checked and spyware and nothing came up so am baffled as to how anyonw would possible guess a password made up of random letters in upper and lower case with numbers in between the letters.Have heard loads of people have been hacked so its not just me which makes me feel better.
