Help request "Wordpress specialists: instalation of 2.2"

Hi guys,
i´m running a site on WP 2.1.3
Do you think i should install the 2.2? Advantages, disadvantages?

I´ve another theme instaled, so i´m afraid that i´ll lost everything; should i install it through fantastico and then upload the database? is it enough to have the 2.2 and the site running exactly as prior to that?
I mean all the content and the same look but with 2.2?

 

I really haven't notice any different between the 2.1 or 2.2. If you decide to install it I would use fantastico but get backups for the database and theme. If you lose the theme you can always uploaded it again from the original zip file.

 

how do i make a backup for theme?

 

Copy the /wp-content/themes/your-theme locally on your HDD

The differences between 2.1.3 and 2.2 are not many if you count them, but they're semi-significant.
For instance, notice on how you got Widgets support in your Presentations menu. This can help especially when you're not very good at coding.

I think you'll be safe. Just make sure you have a backup as was already suggested.

about the 2.2 version, it has a import feature that allows to import a complete blog from blogger in just seconds, nice!

 

2.2.1 was just released too, so now is a good time to upgrade
