Hi, I am new to the forums and hence i dont know where exactly i have to post this. I am looking for a web designer to create a new website but i am stumped at a question. Now i am not using any of the CMS and hence am looking for a html page, but one worry is the back end. If i do open a new contest for that project (and please let me know where can i do that) will i be getting some sort of a back end to periodically update the page? While the site is not an article based one and neither does it requires constant updates, the page will have to be updated every once a while. So will i be getting a back end or will it be a stand-alone html page that has to be updated in the code?
It'll probably be stand alone, as you say it won't need updating often. You might find a news posting script is handy but it depends what content is on the page.
By contest I assume you simply mean a request for tenure to receive quotes? Or do you mean an actual contest where you get people to design it for free and award the contract to the one you prefer to actually build the site? Either way, simply state your requirements and ask people to price on that basis. If you require any form of functionality then state it, if you explicitly dont want something then say that as well. If it is a tenure process then the bidders should outline their proposition and what they are and arent including in their price.
