Hello, I run the website www.numeroten.com and I get about 20k visitors a month. My site specializes on Top 10 Lists, and almsot every post on top 10 lists eventually ends up in the first page of google. As of now those searches get about 1k-2k searches a month, and I average about 150k impressions a month. What I want to do is rank for the specific terms "Lists" and Top 10 Lists", Right away I know it will be almsot impossible to land myself on the first page since the competition is much bigger, however any tips to land me on the first 10 or 5 pages? I just want to get start ranking on the terms so I can start building them up, but I'm really unsure of how to start because the terms are very vague. Thanks, Timothy Makalinao
As you said, those are tough keywords. It usually doesn't do much good to be in the top 5 or 10 pages. You could probably rank for more specific terms, such as any particular Top 10 lists you've compiled, such as "Top 10 dog breeds," "Top 10 Movies of 2011," etc. Some of these might even be competitive, and others might not get many searches, but it would be a start.
The thing is webcontent i already rank in the first page for many of those terms that i have posted about and that you used as an example, but i would really like ranking into something tougher like those terms.
