No, it's not going to hurt your site.

They can't remove the link because it's not on their site.

it wont hurt, it will be indexed as an irrelevant backlink, not carry over any pagerank.

Actually it might carry over pagerank, but the OP's site is not going to rank for that term if it is not present on his own site.

This just happened to one of my sites last week. My site http://www.palmcoasthouseforsale.com was doing great for the terms 'palm coast house' and 'palm coast house for sale'. I noticed last week a huge drop in ranks. I found there are a bunch of porn sites that now use the anchor text 'palm coast house for sale' to link to other porn sites. One has the nerve to use my exact url: http://www.palmcoasthouseforsale.com. Of course there is no way to contact anyone at these sites. I also noticed a bunch of crappy directories are listing my site and those too cant be contacted. Im not sure if this was done by a competitor or even if this affected my ranking but it is very suspicious if you ask me. This sort of thing should be illegal.

I have the same problem with one of my sites - it has many links from porn sites. I am still not sure if there is any effect, this site has never ranked well in google, although it is on first place for its 2 major keywords in yahoo. However, last few months the traffic tripled(while PR went from 3 to 2) and there is now some from google as well(mainly images). I am pretty sure it is competitors' work as no one else would bother creating such links. Furthermore, I've received many 'seo' offers from the contact form of this site, so I guess these are the guys making the bad links

I doubt it.......If google could be fooled by any sites competitors and link building... it would have results of only pure spam BS....

Most likely it would be filtered as irrelevant, since it is outside the logical category your site would fall under.

    Peace!

Exactly, it may not be revelent, but every one way link counts. The idiot who is trying to hurt the op is only helping the op by giving him another one way link.
