Can someone help validate my homepage? I get lots of errors. I would pay a reasonable fee to have it validate and then to please run html tidy on the sourcecode. (I guess I'm anal about it, I don't know why)

    PM me for url.

    Thanks, RonMo

You know what, I ran html tidy on my homepage, and it fixed 75% of the validation errors, so I put it up on my site.. BIG MISTAKE! I was listed on page 1 for 2 good keywords (MSN) and I was generating $70-$100 per day with adsense, this morning my listings have dropped out of sight; no more adsense cash. I replaced it back the way it was, I hope MSN forgives me! (they seemed to have liked it, despite all the errors)

Wow, it's been 2 days now with the old homepage back, but MSN has still not restored my rankings, does anyone know how long until they will?

    Thanks, RonMo

    Hi,

maybe it was a coincidence - I've always had a feeling that MSN was pretty keen on validated pages. They are the only SE I know whose pages validate.

I noticed a serps update on Friday.

    Cheers,
    Paz.

I don't think it was an update, my other pages are still there, still with the same ranking, but my homepage is completely dropped from the SERPS, I sure hope it comes back.

You should consider using validator.w3.org to validate every web page after you upload it. You can also install plugins for Ultra Edit that will validate your pages before you upload them.

If you like you can post/PM the site in question and I can have a look.

BTW there's a firefox extension that validates pages as you open them. Do a search for "HTML Validator Firefox and Mozilla extension" and you'll find it.

    Cheers,
    Paz.
