Paypal limited my account without even sending me a notification mail. I was surprised to see account limited when i logged in. It says "decision cannot be appealed". I called by phone and they told me that paypal has decided not have any business with me. I had no problems whatsoever the past 3 yrs and i never had a chargeback. They wouldnt tell me the reason for limitation either. However they told me that i will be getting my money after 180 days. I am Non-US Is there anything i can do? seems end of world to me. For those of you thinking paypal is safe haven, wait for one day paypal will hit you.
Did you get an email from Paypal maybe thinking it was a phishing email and did not read it? There is a reason - you just need to call them and ask for it
Sorry to hear your problem. I had trouble with them several years ago before ebay bought them. Eventually got it straightened out. Seems things improved a little since ebay takeover, expansion to other countries, etc. But they are still thieves and not to be trusted. I still use them for small payments for the convenience of some customers. But if I receive a payment I withdraw right away so they can't steal it if they decide to close my account. I'm still hoping for a good competing service, although Google Checkout doesn't seem to be it, at least not yet, and not if they continue to insist on stealing your customer away like they currently do.
That's my point - maybe they emailed you but you thought it was a phishing email and did not bother to read it
The OP mentioned that he never got any email notification from Paypal and found out his account is frozen when he logged in. He also did call them about it. Incidentally, are you from an approved country listed on Paypal and did you have your account verified ?
Exactly the same thing happened to me, and the money in my account was in the thousands. Paypal is a joke and nobody should use them
I am just saying that an email from Paypal was actually recieved but the merchant thought it was a phishing email and did not bother to read it. Or maybe his email program flagged it as possible phishing as well and that is why the email was not received
