hi there i need help..i did search engine optimisation for a website sometime back for which the customer paid $300 dollars for.he was satisfied with everything and the work was done properly.now after 54 days,he filed a chargeback saying it was an unauthorised payment and paypal reversed my transfer to my bank account and is holding on to my funds.what do i do?
you didnt transfer money to your bank after your recieved money?and i think he just be able to Chargeback if the payment less than 45 days..until he made you payment by cc
dakingofkings, Money have been lost as opening unauthorised its a complete lost. as other party will state that someone used my paypal etc etc.... and he will try to cook up story, SO far what i will suggest , 3 things Give paypal whatever they want .... tell them about few words you had with the other party MAJOR POINT - explain paypal that **if its unauthorised why did the person claim after many days** the last point is very handy , you can also add few more points stating when a person send pp to other person you can an e-mail of sending funds... etc etc I hope this should help you.
nothing will help if this is a chargeback because paypal dont have any control over chargeback... paypal is not design to sell digital products... to sell digital products through paypal, one need to be very careful and need to make his/her own rules or regulations for customers... and also need to monitor IP's of customers and match the IP with the geo location of the paypal address.... because when someone send a payment using stolen credit card then there geo location and the address provided will never be the same... and also one need to send invoice if selling digital products... however invoice dont help to stop reversal and chanrgeback but still it can be shown as proof if file a lawsuit against the buyer...
do you guys understand how chargebacks work? the credit card company files a dispute against the merchant (PayPal) and if their isn't sufficient evidence to support it, the chargeback will complete and you will lose. (In this case, digital products are not supported because they can not be used as evidence by PayPal to fight the dispute from the credit card company)
