Well, this is a new one to me. After almost 4 years of not having any trouble with Google Adsense payments, I had not received in a month this fall, and now December's payment issued on December 23 has not arrived. I started the reissue process, and now Google is saying the check was received, and cashed. My records show no check, no deposit, and my bank records also confirm the same. Anyone have a phone number for Google?
I guess if the cheque was intercepted and enchased there is not much you can do. In the future make sure you inform google sooner i.e. if your cheque normally arrives in a week and you haven't got it in 10 days then inform them ASAP and ask them to block it.
You can't file a re-issue until the 25th of the month following the payment. Given that Christmas Day & New Years Day fell in this timeframe, I gave it an extra 3 days before filing the report. And if the check got "intercepted", then there's a larger problem here.
If you have western union as payment option, I guess that's possibly the best way to receive payment without this problem.
Does anyone know how to contact Google other than email and has anyone experienced this type of thing before?
i c you are in canada. its hard to believe that a google mail will be intercepted by someone between US to Canada who would then cash it also. if it was some remote 3rd world country with corrupted mail system, then that would be different. i'm in Toronto and it used to take me 3 business days to get a check when google was mailing it from Buffalo, NY. now that my check gets mailed ofrm Canifornia, its taking me 5-6 business days to get mine these days. for you it should not be anymore than a week since you are in Newfoundland. i would report after 10 days. also, its not easy to cash a check here in canada and anyone would need 2 pieces of government issued ID to cash a check in money mart or somewhere. who would go thru the trouble and expense of making fake IDs to cash a single check? i suggest you contact adsense support and let them know that you didnt get your check and if the check was cashed, then it would be by someone else committing fraud. its not hard to trace the cash point and find out who cashed it
Thanks for the great words of advise! As stated, never had a problem before and yes, I am in Newfoundland. Usually takes me about 10 - 12 days to get a check. I've also contacted the bank directly. I know the amount, and they are searching the deposit records for the account that my online revenue gets deposited into. I keep accounting records for my online businesses, and show the payment as not being received and have just gotten the bank statements in the mail today and will be reconciling the accounts tonight. Hopefully it is a mistake or just something that I may have missed given the Christmas season. I don't like to think that there's anything else gone wrong here.
