Help out a COMPLETE Wordpress newbie!

    Hello all,

I have a website about cellphones and I just purchased 30 unique articles to upload to it. I made a post asking for reviews and it was suggested to me that I should convert my site to a blog (since it's just made up of articles)

I thought this was a pretty good idea, but I don't know much about blogs. I would like to start a wordpress blog, but I'm not sure where to start. What I'm probably going to end up doing is creating a thread in the contest section for a custom wordpress blog.

What I need to know is what are the requirements that I will want to ask for?? (ie. coded or uncoded...I have no idea what that means!)

    This is what I know:
    - I want it optimized for Adsense
    - I have a header that needs to be implemented in the design

...thats all I know! Help me out DP! Thanks in advance!

    You want a coded theme.

Adsense optimization is as easy as activating a plugin like AdSense Deluxe.

All themes have some form of a header (header.php).

Moving to Wordpress is something you'll thank yourself for!

First off, download it here. If you have elementary HTML and CSS knowledge (or even just HTML, and want to spend a weekend playing with CSS), then you'll have no problem modifying Wordpress. There are tons of themes, free, here - here are more suggestions. It is *really* easy to modify themes, it can all be done in the backend through "Presentation" - all of the elements (body/sidebars/header/footer/etc) are there.

Posting and editing articles is really easy, as there's a WYSIWYG bar and "private" and "draft" option for articles that you want to work on, but not put up live.

Adsense is easy to add, just use something like Adsense deluxe.

As for the header, like mentioned above - it can be easily edited through traditional means through the CSS stylesheet and header portion of the theme, in the admin panel.

Do a web search for plug-in-profit WordPress themes. Or you could just check my signature links! ;)

You can manually insert your Adsense script to header.php or footer.php or index.php or all. I use this method.
