Help or Advice Needed: When do you let a project die?

So I thought I had a good idea. Turns out, it may or may not have been... And I'll probably never know.

When someone says: "Take a profitable idea, and just do it over and over again and get rich!"

Don't believe them. While it MAY be true in some instances, it's not in others.

I've built a very profitable site over the course of the years (It'll bring in over 20K this year). So... I'd just do it again but with a twist.

I neglected to realize how much time and effort I put into it. That, and I can not neglect my "cow" that allows me to fund these other projects.

Seeing as I can't do both, my second project is dead.

I'm paying for a dedicated server, payed $2,500 for the custom code (that works well I might add), have a vbulletin forum and more... So about $3k invested in it plus the monthly server fees....

So when DO you let a project die? Or should I bring on a business partner? Sell the site and code?

I mean, I can afford to let this go on... That's not the issue, but man, I could be using that server for something else I suppose.

I suppose a business parter that knows PHP could be brought on to manage and promote the site.... I'd pay the fees still and would split the income. I have no issue with that seeing as how it's just money out right now. Anything in would be a plus for me.

(I'm just thinking out loud now)

Or just dump the whole thing and move on?

    What would you do?

Thanks in advance... This has bothered me for sometime, and I was hoping I could just do it myself, but I've come to terms that I can't do it alone.
