    Hi !!

I have an Online Health Forum powered by vBulletin, started before a week back. I have submitted the site to google, msn and yahoo.

How should I go about getting a PR of 5 or 6 in a month or two.

Do I have to buy links, which seems to be too costly and moreover are they really reliable.

    Thanks

Don't buy links, look through the search results you want to compete on and swap links with them. As for link text that you want to rank on e.g.

    Health Forum

or something people are likely to search on like a few of your forum categories.

See the digital point keyword suggestion tool (from www.digitalpoint.com) to see what people search for.

Join into Co-op network and exchange links as many as possible.

A noble goal - but keep in mind that Google only updates page rank every so often... so it may take longer than a month or two. Here's a page someone sent to me with a calendar of Google updates... might help you see when the last update was and when you might be able to expect the next one.

I'd say start with the directories. They're one way links and often have high PR themselves.

Directories are good, but you need to decide which one is good and which is not.

When submitting to directories my primary concern is the relavancy of their categories to the nature of my site as relavant links are more likely to bring traffic too

See here http://www.compar.com/infopool/articles/PR-calculation.html for a good estimate of you many links you will have to build over the next 2 months to reach your goal.

Quickest way is to buy a higher PR than 6. Like the offer here in the forum for a PR8 site-wide.

Why do you want a high PR though?

The only way to get a PR5+ in that timescale is to gain a huge amount of inbound links, and that is assuming that Google updates the PR within that timeframe. They probably won't and if they do, there is a good chance that only some of the links you get will be counted towards PR until the next update, whenever that is.

When you buy a higher PR than 6,you also should build more free links, then you can get better position.

Build up your links and get links from other sites that have high PR. THis will help give your site a high PR. I don't know about in a month or two, I would give it about 6 months.
