I am pretty new to SEO, but have done well so far, I am currently trying to rank for "music video codes." Any suggestions on link building, and tips? Thanks everyone
link with relevant entertainment sites ( mp3, band , club, nightlife message boards, rate me sites, music software etc.).. vary your anchor text, descriptions, and pages that you point your link to.
I'd suggest to choose some smaller (more specific) keyword at first. "music video codes" is too BIG for a new website, I suppose Then do some onpage optimization and... get as many quality links as possible (this is totally indispendable)
Ditto! Also go after several longer keywords. I prefer to target words that convert to sales instead of just focusing on traffic. -Get links from older sites with great backlines -Get links from within content -Lots of deep links -Avoid places that list a lot of other SEOed sites -Write some "high-quality" content to attract natural links over time -Study your logs to see what you are already getting traffic for and build on that.
My best advice is to search for related forums - it will ge a good start to get some traffic and links..
Write a paper or more explaining your business etc. Then send this to editors of press . But make sure it is a good explaination. There are services that can help you write a press release and send them to media contacts as well . Search google for such services or may be someone on the forum is offerring this service. For people wanting to know the website it's http://www.myspacesupport.com. Andrew's a friend of mine so I don't think he will mind.
With all respect to farishtaey, a press release is a bit more than that. It is a written piece aimed at journalists to convey a news worthy message. It is late Sunday evening here, I will write more if you are interested in Monday, but in the mean time checkout How to Write a Press Release and Sample Press Release Thanks, Gary
Thanks for the post Gary. Where do you recommend submitting press releases? I would be doing one for a forum.
