Im trying to get started in logo designing and graphic design in general. What would you recommend for a great app/download for a Mac computer. I would prefer if it was free. Thanks!

    Hello Owen,

If your looking for free Mac apps that could help you to begin your journey with graphics and creating logos I would recommend you the following applications I've used some while ago when I was still working on a mac in the office:
    GIMP
    Seashore
    Inkspace
    Scratch
and last but not least, Pixelmator.

They are all free to download and are in fact decent tools that can aid you in your needs. Mostly intuitive, they should be a friendly way to start learning the basics of design. Hope you'll appreciate ;)

    Kind regards,
    Kavalorn.

It would be well worth your while to invest in actual Adobe software. Sorry to say, but you're never going to be taken seriously as a designer if you're using Powerpoint or Corel Draw. If you enroll in some community college classes to learn how to use them, the student price on the software is about 10% of what the normal retail cost is (student discount through Adobe). That should give you enough of an opening to get started and then when it comes time to renew your license or upgrade, you should be making enough to afford it.

You really need something you can work in vectors like Illustrator. If you want to be a professional people are going to expect .ai files.
