I reformatted my blog and all of indexed URLs has been redirected to 404 file not found... How do I direct these file not found to my active page? Thanks
Where is your blog hosted? Check in your hosting control panel, there may be an option to set a page for 40* error.
I have an option but I don't know what to do... it giving me some options like these Where to insert my redirection URL?
Please tell us more. What type of blog is this ? Do you host it or is it hosted by blogspot.com or someone else ? You said, "I reformatted my blog", what does this mean ? Thanks
I've been having this server problem since last month... Today, I ask the support of my hosting if I can redirect the "file not found" to my homepage. The support did something that I totally don't like... He redirected my homepage to "file not found" instead doing it in reverse. I asked them to fix everything and my homepage shows up now but all internet links are being redirected to 404 file not found". They are now telling me that this is a code problem and I need to contact a coder.. This is totally unfair because they are the ones who touched my blog and after that, everything has messed up. Now I can't open all of my internal links... The site is http://www.myseoblog.net. Please check and tell me what to do.. Seems there is always a wordpress issue with their servers.. It's been more than 12 hours now that my blog is in this situation... Please tell me what to do.. I have some running ads and I am losing every hour.. Thank you very much..
It sounds like the problem is with your .htaccess file. This type of problem is very common w/wordpress. Before you do this please backup your .htaccess file Here is an easy fix you can try : 1. Login to the wp-admin 2. Click options 3. Click Permalinks 4. Click Update Permalink Structure (at the bottom) Try your site. If this works feel free to send me a PayPal tip [ Good.Things.Services (at) gmail (dot) com ] edit : This guy (see last post) seemed to accomplish the effect you want (404 -> Homepage) w/some very short and simple code.
