Help on CPM Ads Please

    Hi,
As of today a lot of the ads placed on my Real Estate forum (in sig) seem to have switched over to one big banner - all for the same advertiser (Money Super Market dot com). Are these CPM Ads? If so why are they all the same advertiser - have they targetted my site? I am starting to get a pretty decent CPC and am worried that this might go down. Is there are any way to switch off CPM ads. Should I even be worried about this.

    Thanks for any help offered.
    Bob

You might have some advertiser targetting your forum.

Yes it's probably site targeting and then yes it will be CPM and no you shouldn't be worried because Google only shows CPM if it turns out to be better for them (hence also for you) than CPC ads.

Thanks for the advice. As long as I am not losing money then I supposed I should be flattered that my site is a target.

For a forum chances are you're much better off this way. You can also be cheeky (against TOS) and do a deal directly to avoid Google's cut.

I hope you're right. I am currently averaging close to $1 / Click. But CTR is not great currently 2% and I think as the forum becomes better with more content and posts the CTR will drop. I will have to monitor and see if it works out better. I hope there's an easy way to monitor / report on CPM!

I have heard that the smart guys look for and target their advertisers directly - and this makes sense if you can significantly increase your revenue. For me Adsense is just too simple a plugin and leave product that takes out all the messy side of dealing with customers...
