I would like to increase the page CTR of my site http://www.my-libraryblog.com , it's an italian blog. Actually I get most of the traffic from google (about 60%), the actual page CTR is 1,42%: is there any chance to increase it?
usually I read all around that a lot of people reach higher CTR (3 - 4 -5% and so on). What is your experience?
Thanks, can I ask you what is your experience with page CTR? is it true also that if the traffic is coming mostly from search engines the page CTR could be higher?
Hi, First, you can forget your ads in the bottom of the page, it's problably the worse place. About the ads placed on the top it's hardly better. why don't you go to the google advice page ? In fact a full center table between "si girava verso di noi, verso la nave, verso tutti, e gridava: l’America." and "Questo è il felice esordio del breve testo teatrale di Baricco." should be the best. After it's just a question of choice : what is the best for you ? Visitors to read your texts or to search for informations given by the ads ?
In effect, from the footer ads I got just 3 or 4 clicks. What is the best for me? a returning visitor don't have to stress himself with ads while reading the books review (it's a blog of book's reviews). The best could be to change the position and the number of ads when someone is coming from search engine: is it allowed by google? or it is an infringement of their rules?
Asking about other people's CTR is pointless without also knowing their daily traffic and, in most cases, site niche. Don't go comparing your blog about fish to some other guy's blog about cars. One has nothing to do with the other. Plus, if your fish blog has 10 visitors a day, and the guy's car blog has 1000, low CTR is acceptable for him, but not for your 10 visitors, etc. Having said that, how much traffic are you getting?
Try 336x280 ads instead of 468x60 ones. If your footer ads don't get many clicks it's better to remove them in order to increase earnings per click.
It's a new blog (started less than 3 weeks ago), the blog is about books' reviews: actually is more or less 50 unique per day (3 page view for each), 30 coming each day from google.
50 visitors a day is not a lot. Stop wasting your time worrying endlessly about your CTR, ad type, placement, and all the other things newcomers to ADsense spend too much thinking about, and concentrate on adding content and getting traffic. Everything else will sort itself out. When I start a new site, I don't expect the site to make any money until its second month online. Even then, I don't REALLY expect REAL money until the third or fourth month. In the meantime, I do nothing but add content and promote the site via SEO. When the traffic comes, the money will come with it.
You are absolutly right, the content is the MUST, the blog changes everyday and the content is written by my wife (it's her hobby): my job here (it's just an hobby) is the "dirty work" of a newby webmaster!
I totally agree. Now is not the time to worry about CTRs. Spend your time promoting your site and getting traffic!! My site is only two weeks old and I've done a lot of promoting and research, but am yet to look at my CTRs! Hmm....but maybe I should? kumiko xo
why don't you keep track of the major keywords of your target and create some new content "into" those keywords? i really have a hard time wondering why so many people lost their focus on this one.
You can definitely increase that! I would suggest evaluating the placement of your ads and seeing if you can improve on where they're currently placed.
For 50 users you get nothing. Plus you are telling that 30 are from google itself. I get 1200 uniques per day on some sites of mine. Some have 1500 uniques. Some get 200. etc etc. CTR 0.27% Last time I saw it. But I am still not thinking to improve it. I am just going to raise the traffic as much as I can and then maybe when I have some time the move ads here and there. I will do it. Your first step should be to get good traffic.
