Help!! no connection with MySQL database

Well,I think this is the best place to write bout this.

I got WAMPSERVER2 in my local computer .It is WAMP 5.I installed it very clearly and didn't touched any sopurce code till now.But when I got to localhost/phpmyadmin then it says

#2003 - Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)


will you please help me to solve this problem?

 

check the port number, you may be connection to the wrong port.

 

I am just new to it .will you please describe it clearly?

Actually, I don't know anything about these softwares.But just know about PHP little bit (I mean I can understand and write simple programs)
Before this, I had already this server but while formatting I deleted it and now it's not running which I downloaded form sourceforge.

 

Make sure mySQL is turned on.

 

how to see if MySQL is turned or or not?I just installed it.

 

check if mysql is running. do this at the c:\ prompt-->netstat -an. check if mysql's port (3306) is present. If not, run it.
