To be honest the most important place to start is TARGETING Which terms you will target Which pages on your site you will target. The KW/Phrase research can make or break a SEO campaign. It is often overlooked ... but entirely essential. If you have a hunt around on this forum there are threads relating to Dos and Donts for newbies. It's also important to think long term. If you are just starting out it's kind of like body-building: you might see leaps and bounds initially but then things level out. You need to do things little and often and most importantly, learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others. Good luck chief!
