    Hi Guys,

I am starting a social news website and i want to know if it would be best for me to register my domain name for one year or multiple years?

    Is namecheap any good?

have you guys ever heard of "lunarpages" for webhosting?

    Thanx in advance!

namecheap is THE best and they are very reliable. registering for multiple years will improve your site credibility with google. apart from that it might be a few dollars less for multiple years. nothing much apart from peace of mind if your domain is very valuable,

Lunarpages used to be a freehost and i havent experienced them as a paid host. Most people here at DP host within themselves / own a server / go with gaints like dreamhost / hostgator and likes.

we will wait to hear from them as well ;) Good luck with your website.

Well, it doesn't matters much that from where you are taking your domain !

Main thing which matters is hosting ! And that you need to take from a good company in order to run your site smoothly ! I will suggest you something like Hostgator or any other famous one would be good for you.

Yes you can go with Namecheap for domains, try to register domains for longer timeframe which will save few bucks ;) regarding hosting.... its better to avoid GAINT Host ;) rather go with reliable hosting service provider who are available for you at any point of time to help you.

If the domain name is good enough you should register for multiple years.

I purchase domain names from GoDaddy.com and host my sites on Hostgator.com.No problems ever.

Namecheap is the best for domain registrations. I've been transfering my domains from godaddy when they expire to namecheap.
