Hello all, This is my 1st post for help, have found this forum very helpful and until now have managed to pick up some SEO fairly well. The problem I have is with two of my sites. Site 1 - Is a blog with 70 pages, is only 2 weeks old and is happily ranking 3rd out of 16,300,000 in a UK only search for term computer articles. Site 2 - Is my repair business, it is about 2 years old and ranks nowhere for term hybrid computers which is out of a measly 815,000 and again is none existent for computer repair out of 3,400,000, again all UK only searches. Question I have is how can I rank 3rd from 16 million for one site with next to no optimisation, yet a site that is older, has had more work spent on it and more optimised, has more/better back-links can rank so poorly out of 100,000. What am I doing wrong? Help please, thanks. Dave.
Many sites have a 'honeymoon' period in Google for a few weeks when they rank well for competitive search phrases and then they sink without trace (or disappear into the sandbox). I think your situation is entirely normal with respect to the new site and you need to concentrate on how to SEO the older site better.
That would explain it then, thanks. With regard to the older site its been heavily optimised and bank-links have been sorted over the last 2-3 weeks. What sort of time frame should I have to wait before it starts to rank better? Dave.
that may be 2 days or 2 months , that depends on backlinks u have and google bots.to view seo results generally take 1 to 3 months.
