HELP needed with running PERL (pl) files

    I can't run perl programs for some reason. I downloaded active perl which is needed to run pl files but it just gives me black blank screen for a second and it closes.
    What is the problem here? :(

    put perl executable in your path and then type perl -v to find out whether it got installed correctly, else reinstall active perl, it works for me wothout any problem.

    in your command prompt go to perl directory and run from there

    so you saying that its impossible to run pl files from desktop, why running from command promp helps?
