Help Needed with Ad Buys for Luxury Brand

I handle digital marketing for an emerging luxury brand; we are growing, but do not have the capital to invest with networks like Hearst Digital Media, NYtimes, AmEx Display Network, Conde Nast, etc. And for additional context, we are looking to advertise in high-end online publications like Departures, NYTimes.com, WSJ.com, MarieClaire.com, MarthaStewartWeddings.com, etc.; networks with demographic insight into their readers and readers with an average of $100K income. Essentially, we would like to test the waters with a smaller initial ad buy, around $1-2K as we've never done this before and then reinvest any ROI into a larger ad investment. But of the networks I just mentioned, the minimum ad buys range from $5k-25k. I should add that at the same time, I am performing SEO on the site for long-term ROI, but the pressure is on me to return short-term ROI. Our brand lacks name recognition, press, and an all-around strong online presence, which I'm working on a large ad buy would help to increase brand recognition.

Does anyone have much experience with doing these kind of AdBuys, or any insight into other publications that would require a lower minimum investment? I am looking to target both women with disposable income, as well as more male-geared publications who make up a large number of sales, buying gifts for their significant others. Can anyone point me in the direction of more fashion-based ad networks with a high-end readership? I know this is a long-shot, but I am running out of ideas and need to come up with one fast.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

You may have better luck using an ad network that represents smaller publishers. Some I know of that target women are Burst Media's "Ella", Glam Media, BlogHer, and Totally Her. None of these are exclusively for high-end readers, but they may have some additional targeting options available.

Thank you! Yes, we've actually been taking that strategy, while also securing some relatively cheap ads on nytimes.com. Thank you for your help and sorry for the slow reply!
