How should we start promoting a forum site like DP, which is not a biz forum like DP, but a general chat forum, on day to day discussions. Like if we like to make a 6 month SEO schedule for it, how should be go for it ?

Build lots of content in your subject matter and make sure your post titles show the subject first and the forum second and that way you'll get lots of searchs. Make sure you use a site map as well.
