    Hello!

I would like a bit of advice from the more business-minded of you. I work as a web designer and SEO enthusiast. I have recently teamed up with a web developer (programmer) to put together a completely bespoke piece of SEO reporting software, as requested by a digital agency. This agency wishes to buy this software and own it after we have developed it, and subsequently sell it to their clients under their branding.

This is a large project and will take 2-3 months to design and build, with both of us putting in around 15-20 hours per week.

We really need advice on how much to charge for this software, so any pointers are very much appreciated.

    Thanks!

First figure out your hourly rate. Then multiply by the number of hours you will be working. Not to hard.

an hourly rate is not really the best way to go about it to be honest, we're looking at a per-project basis and would like to know the "going rate" for bespoke software suites

Charge a percentage and an upfront fee.
